Kurt Jorgensen
(Managing Partner)Kurt is a proven team leader with expertise in general management, operations management, sales management, sales skills and negotiation, team building, change management, business start-ups, turnaround, restructuring and entrepreneurship. He began his career thirty years ago working at his family’s group of Peterbilt truck dealerships in Wisconsin. To learn the business, his father had him start at the bottom and work in every department- service, parts, sales, sales management, general management, business development, finally rising to the Vice President of Sales for all dealerships, a member of the Board and one of the business owners. During this time he learned the value of working hard and working together with colleagues as a team, the skills necessary to attract and retain top talent, how to create and cultivate long-term customer relationships, and the sport and spirit of competing in business. He achieved high success in team building, change management, business start-ups, turnaround situations, restructuring and entrepreneurship. During his tenure the corporation grew from four locations in Wisconsin to nineteen locations in four states. A beneficial exit from the family business in 2017 enabled Kurt to pursue other business interests through Jorgensen Partners, LLC. In this new venture, his guiding principle is to increase stakeholder value through collaboration and the spirit of mutual benefit: in a sense, to treat all people as partners- customers, colleagues, and investors alike. More concisely as Kurt likes to say, “Connecting through partnerships”.
Kurt’s formal education includes an M.B.A. from Marquette University, a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and extensive coursework and training at the American Truck Dealer Academy in McLean, Virginia. Apart from work, Kurt enjoys life with his wife and four children, volunteers time and charity to his local community, revels in ‘all things’ automotive, and is an avid outdoorsman.
